Is blue the new green? When it comes to eco-friendly driving, BlueMotion technology is hard to beat. Volkswagen has looked at its existing technology to see how it can be made more environmentally-friendly, refining a variety of elements, from enhanced aerodynamics to revised gear ratios. The result? A new range of vehicles designed to have a smaller impact on the world.
The Polo has been the first model to receive the BlueMotion treatment - producing a car with class leading CO2 emissions, from just 99g/km. On the combined fuel economy test, the Polo BlueMotion is capable of using just 3.8L of diesel for every 100km travelled.
Economy doesn't come at the expense of driving pleasure, however. A powerful 1.4 TDI diesel engine combined with 5-speed manual gearbox, lowered sports suspension and unique magnesium alloy wheels mean the Polo BlueMotion proves that being environmentally aware can be fun.
