30 years in the making, the Golf Mark V is here.

And it's not just a pretty face either. Under the smooth, stylish exterior (which could only have been designed in Europe) there's brawn to match the beauty. New TSI and TDI engines power the Golf, from the thrifty 90kW TSI petrol through to the powerful yet economical (a contradiction, surely?) 103kW TSI and 2.0 TDI.

However, even after all this time, it's reassuring to see one thing's barely changed at all. Despite its sleek new styling, the new Golf is still clearly a Golf.
