Campaign 45B1 - Golf ABS Control Unit

Volkswagen AG has advised of a potential safety issue involving a limited number of Beetle vehicles. On some vehicles within the affected chassis number range, it is possible that individual control unit parts may overheat because of an electrical fault with in the ABS unit. In isolated cases the overheating can lead to damage of the ABS unit.

For safety reasons a check of your vehicle is necessary. The check of the ABS unit only takes a few minutes. If the ABS unit has to be replaced, the vehicle will have to be booked in with the dealer. Check and repair are, of course, free of charge to you.
